Measures for the Implementation of Joint Inspections over the Boundary Lines of Provincial Administrative Areas

Article 1 For the purpose of regulating the management of joint inspections over the boundary lines of provincial administrative areas, the present Measures are formulated in accordance with the Administrative Regulation on the Boundary Lines of Administrative Areas.
Article 2 The "joint inspections on the boundary lines of provincial administrative areas" (hereinafter referred to as the joint inspections" as mentioned in the present Measures refers to a legally prescribed work system by which the people's governments of the contiguous provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government make joint inspections over the management of the already surveyed boundary lines of the provincial administrative areas and address the problems they find.
Article
1. the information about the implementation of the already surveyed boundary lines of the administrative areas;
2. the boundary markers and changes of their ground objects, as well as the information about the maintenance of the boundary markers;
3. other marks indicating the alignment of the boundary lines of the administrative areas, and the surface features and landform changes relevant to the spot location of the boundary lines of the administrative areas, as well as the maintenance and survey information;
4. the trans-administrative-area production, construction and management, as well as the information about how the relevant problems are tackled;
5. other information relevant to the management of boundary lines of administrative areas.
Article 4 The joint inspections shall stick to the principles of helping consolidate the survey achievements and keeping the definite alignment of the boundary lines of the administrative areas, conducing to maintaining the social stability of the areas near the boundary lines of the administrative areas and interests of the people in both administrative areas and being favorable to promoting the local economic and social development.
Article 5 The basis for the joint inspections:
1. The agreements on the boundary lines of administrative areas jointly surveyed by the people's governments, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government, and approved by the State Council;
2. The official replies, coordination opinions and attached maps of the State Council and the relevant departments about the demarcation of boundary lines of administrative areas; and
