The Decision of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress on Amending the Law of the People's Republic of China on Administrative Supervision (hereinafter referred to as the "Decision") that was adopted at the 15th Session of the Standing Committee of the 11th National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China on June 25, 2010, is hereby promulgated for implementation as of October 1, 2010.

Decision of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress on Amending the Law of the People's Republic of China on Administrative Supervision

Adopted at the 15th Session of the Standing Committee of the 11th National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China on June 25, 2010

It is decided at the 15th Session of the Standing Committee of the 11th National People's Congress to revise the Law of the People's Republic of China on Administrative Supervision as follows:

I. Article 2 is revised to read: "Supervisory organs are organs that exercise the function of supervision on behalf of the people's governments, supervising the state administrative organs and their public servants as well as other persons appointed by the state administrative organs in accordance with the Law."

II. Article 5 is revised to read: "In supervision, education shall be combined with punishment, and supervision and inspection shall be conducted for the purpose of institutional improvement."
