Announcement of the State General Administration of quality supervision, inspection and quarantine [2006] No.5

In accordance with Article 4 of Measures for Supervision and Administration on Imported Measurement Instrument, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine revised the List of the Model and Type of Imported Measurement Instrument Subject to Examination and Inspection (hereinafter referred to as New List). It is now promulgated and shall be put into effect as from August 1, 2006.

As from today, no approval process of Model and Type of Imported Measurement Instrument shall be transacted for the measurement instrument excluded in the new list. The former List of the Model and Type of Imported Measurement Instrument Subject to Examination and Inspection shall be abolished as from this very day.

The administration of ultrasonic source, laser source and radiation source for medical use shall be subject to the Notice on Clarifying the Scope of Ultrasonic Source, Laser Source and Radiation Source for Medical Use under the Supervision and Administration (Ji Jian Ju Liang Fa [1998] No.49)

Appendix: List of the Model and Type of Imported Measurement Instrument Subject to Examination and Inspection

1. Distance Measuring Equipment:Electric-polymerization,Ultrasonic Distance Measure,Hand Held Laser Distance Meter;

2. Theodolite:Optical Theodolite,Electronic Theodolite;

3. Total Station:Total Station Optical Electronic Tacheometric Theodolite;

4. Level: Level;

5. Geodetic GPS receiver: Geodetic GPS receiver;

6. Level Gauge:Level Gauge;

7. Thickness Gauge: Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge, X-Ray Thickness Gauge, Eddy Current Type Thickness Gauge, Reluctance Thickness Gauge ,Magneto-resistance Method Thickness Gauge, γ-ray Thickness Gauge;

8. Thermometer: Infrared Thermometer that is used for taking human body temperature (Infrared Ear Thermometer, Infrared Human Body Surface Temperature Rapid Screening Meter);
