Your Request for Instructions on Issues Concerning Reinsurance Business of Property Insurance Companies (Qiu Bo Bao Fa [2012] No. 54) has been received. Upon deliberation, it is now replied as follows:
I. Issues concerning the inward reinsurance of accidental injury insurance and health insurance among long-term life insurance in property insurance companies
In accordance with Paragraph 2 of Article 95 of the Insurance Law, an insurer may not operate the personal insurance business and property insurance business concurrently, the insurance company engaged in property insurance business, however, may operate short-term health insurance business and accidental injury insurance business upon the approval by the insurance regulatory authority of the State Council.
