The General Office of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) has issued the Guide to the Analysis and Utilization of Intellectual Property Information (the "Guide").
The Guide comprehensively introduces the channels for obtaining intellectual property information, the analytical methods and procedural standards for patents, trademarks, and other information, as well as analytical tools, thereby providing guidance for innovative entities and service institutions to analyze and utilize intellectual property information in an efficient and standardized way. It may serve as training materials, guidance manuals, and operational standards for enterprises, universities, research institutions, and intellectual property service institutions, and may be used for reference in practical work. According to the Guide, the procedural standards for information analysis and utilization require full-process standardized management and quality control covering information collection, information processing, information analysis and decision-making recommendations, report drafting, utilization feedback and early warning management, as well as data security and ethical risk prevention. With the introduction of procedural standards, it is necessary to guard against various risks such as data leakage risks, algorithmic risks, application risks, and governance risks.
