MCA Solicits Comments on the Catalog of China Assistive Products (2025 Edition)

Recently, the Department of Social Affairs of the Ministry of Civil Affairs (MCA) has released the Catalog of China Assistive Products (2025 Edition) (Draft for Comment) (the "Draft") to solicit public comments. The deadline for submitting feedback is January 8, 2026.

The Draft includes 12 primary categories, 106 secondary categories, 449 tertiary categories, and a total of 1,926 example product names. The main revisions in the Draft are as follows: (1) adjusting the structure of secondary and tertiary categories to fill gaps in emerging fields such as intelligent rehabilitation, age-friendly living, and community-based support, thereby promoting the formation of a well-structured, comprehensive, and forward-looking product classification system; (2) revising and adding product descriptions and intended uses by defining product materials more precisely, standardizing technical terminology, and specifying user groups and usage scenarios; and (3) revising and adding example product names to accurately reflect the latest achievements in technological innovation and clinical rehabilitation practice in the field of assistive products.
