GAC Decides to Launch Electronic Documents for Processing Articles for Official or Personal Use

Recently, the General Administration of Customs (GAC) has issued the Announcement [2025] No. 235, deciding to launch electronic versions of documents for processing articles for official and personal use. The Announcement takes effect on the date of issuance.

According to the Announcement, electronic versions of the Customs of the People's Republic of China Declaration Form of Articles for Official or Private Use Imported or Exported by Diplomatic Missions, and the Customs of the People's Republic of China Declaration Form for Import/Export of Articles for Personal Use will be enabled. The electronic documents are identical in format to their original paper versions and carry the same legal effect. Users may visit the China International Trade Single Window platform, access the declaration module for articles for official and personal use, and print the above electronic documents through the relevant functions under "Comprehensive Inquiry." The Announcement further specifies that the electronic version of the Purchase Permit for Returning Personnel to Buy Domestic Automobiles, including the supplier copy and the recipient copy, will be enabled, and the copies for the customs office at the place of record-filing and the regulatory customs office will be cancelled. It is no longer necessary to use this Permit together with the Customs of the People's Republic of China Declaration Form for Import/Export of Articles for Personal Use.
