State Council Rolls out 20 Measures to Spur High-quality Development of Sports Industries

The General Office of the State Council has issued the Opinions on Unleashing the Potential of Sports Consumption and Further Promoting the High-quality Development of Sports Industries (the "Opinions").

The Opinions identify 20 key measures in six areas: (1) expanding the supply of sports products by enriching sports events and activities, optimizing event service and management, developing outdoor sports industry, fostering ice and snow economy, and promoting the upgrading of sporting goods; (2) boosting sports consumption demand by diversifying consumption scenarios, organizing sports consumption activities, launching initiatives to benefit consumers, and expanding the sports consumer base; (3) strengthening sports market entities by developing more sports enterprises with greater strength, building high-quality matchmaking platforms, and deepening exchanges and cooperation within the sports industries; (4) fostering new growth drivers in sports industries by deepening industry integration, promoting coordinated regional development, and accelerating the digital development of sports; (5) providing greater support in industry factors by strengthening talent development, increasing financial support, and expanding the supply of sports venues; and (6) improving services and safeguards by creating a sound market environment and enhancing statistical monitoring of sports industries.
