MIIT Seeks Comments on Guide for the Development of a System for Computing Power Standards (2025 Edition)

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) recently released the Guide for the Development of a System for Computing Power Standards (2025 Edition) (Draft for Comment) (the "Draft") to solicit public opinions by November 20, 2025.

According to the Draft, by 2027, more than 50 standards will be formulated or revised in areas such as general fundamentals, computing power infrastructure, computing power equipment, integration of computing power and networks, computing power interconnection, computing power platforms, computing power applications, computing power security, and green and low-carbon development, thereby effectively advancing the development of the computing power standards system. Over 500 enterprises will participate in standard promotion, implementation, and application, there will be a number of cases demonstrating the application of standards, and the role of standards in driving enterprise innovation and development will become more prominent. The Draft further calls for establishing a coordination mechanism for standards development that involves research institutions, industry associations, and industrial alliances, continuously promoting exchanges and cooperation in technological innovation, industrialization, infrastructure building, and talent development, thereby providing strong support for the development of a nationwide integrated computing power network.
