State Council Amends the Regulations of the People's Republic of China on Administration of the Entry and Exit of Foreigners

Recently, the State Council has issued the Decision on Amending the Regulations of the People's Republic of China on Administration of the Entry and Exit of Foreigners (the "Decision"), which will take effect on October 1, 2025.

The Decision introduces the following amendments: First, an additional item is added to Article 6 as Item (6): "(6) K visa is issued to foreign young scientific and technological talents who come to China." Second, an additional item is added to the first paragraph of Article 7 as Item (6): "(6) To apply for the K visa, the applicant shall meet the conditions and requirements for foreign young scientific and technological talents as stipulated by the relevant competent authorities of the Chinese government, and submit the corresponding supporting documents."
