State Council Adjusts the Additional Tariff Measures Imposed on Imported Goods Originating from the US

Recently, the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council has released the Announcement on Adjusting the Additional Tariff Measures Imposed on Imported Goods Originating from the United States (the "Announcement").

The Announcement states that, to implement the consensus reached during the China-US economic and trade talks, and in accordance with the Tariff Law of the People's Republic of China, and other relevant laws, regulations, as well as fundamental principles of international law, with the approval of the State Council, the additional tariff measures specified in the Announcement of the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council on Imposing Additional Tariffs on Imported Goods Originating from the United States will be adjusted starting from 12:01 p.m. on August 12, 2025. During the following 90 days, the 24% additional tariff rate imposed on imported goods originating from the United States will continue to be suspended, while the 10% additional tariff rate will be retained.
